XMTP vs Telegram

What your thoughts. Will XMTP replace tg in web3 community?

I don’t think new things have to replace old things. Pavel has built a very successful platform and lots of people love his product. Telegram to me seems more like a social network today than a secure messenger.

XMTP is focused on being the most secure decentralized messaging protocol in the world. One that is key based, where people own their messages, and allowing developers to build permissionlessly on top of it.

I think but can and should exist and people will have many choices for which app they want to choose in the future. With XMTP, if you don’t trust the app you can take your messages with you.

It doesn’t need to replace telegram

XMTP and Telegram have a bit different purposes as I understood - and can be used together
